Gratitude and Freedom

Our guides on our three-week tour of Europe gave generously to helping us understand not just the importance of our father's role in the war but in the importance that all of us across the world know that the freedoms that we take for granted can be taken from us in a moment. Just as each soldier has a story to tell, each guide shared a story of family, country, friend, history, and land so precarious and yet a story fading from our history and our memory. Their collective goal is to tell the story of hard-fought freedom to all who will listen. We listened. We learned. We share their gratitude.
